ITU-UUM Lancar Perkongsian Teknikal Pertama Di Malaysia

ITU-UUM LANCAR PERKONGSIAN TEKNIKAL PERTAMA DI MALAYSIA




UUM ONLINE: Sedar mengenai kepentingan teknologi komunikasi maklumat (ICT), International Telecommunication Union-Universiti Utara Malaysia (ITU-UUM) dengan kerjasama APEC Digital Opportunity Center (ADOC) melancarkan perkongsian teknikal pertama di Malaysia.

Menurut Naib Canselor UUM, Prof Datuk Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, perkongsian ini merupakan satu initiatif bertaraf antarabangsa untuk mengembangkan teknologi ICT dan merapatkan jurang digital antara masyarakat luar bandar.

“Pembukaan pusat mobile digital (makmal bergerak) ini dapat membantu usahawan IKS dengan memberikan latihan percuma kepada mereka untuk memasarkan produk secara elektronik dalam melestarikan industri tempatan,” katanya selepas majlis menandatangani memorandum persefahaman (MoU) dan pelancaran ADOC mobile lab antara UUM dan ADOC Chinese Taipei di Holiday Villa, Alor Setar kelmarin. Tambahnya lagi program ini merupakan yang pertama di Malaysia selepas Peru dan akan dijalankan secara bersiri selama dua tahun.

Ketua Pengarah Bahagian Antarabangsa Institut Industri Maklumat, ADOC Sekretariat Chinese Taipei Meili Hsiao berkata program ini adalah cara yang terbaik untuk mencapai matlamat yang ditetapkan dan berharap dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan serta pengalaman untuk bekerjasama.

Sementara itu, ITU-UUM turut menerima 21 buah komputer riba, printer, kamera dan perunding yang berkemahiran mengendalikan makmal. Majlis tersebut disaksikan, wakil Timbalan Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) di Malaysia, Lin Min-Li dan Pengarah ITU-UUM, Prof. Madya Dr. Wan Rozaini Sheik Osman.

Hadir sama wakil daripada Kementerian Kemajuan Luar Bandar dan Wilayah (KKLW) dan Kementerian Industri dan Perdagangan Antarabangsa (MITI).

ITU-UUM LAUNCHES FIRST TECHNICAL PARTNERSHIP IN MALAYSIA



UUM ONLINE: In view of the importance of Information Communication Technology (ICT), International Telecommunication Union-Universiti Utara Malaysia (ITU-UUM), in collaboration with APEC Digital Opportunity Center (ADOC), launched a technical partnership, the first of its kind in Malaysia, recently.



According to the Vice-Chancellor of UUM, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, the partnership was based on an international initiative to develop ICT technology and also help bridge the digital divide that exists between the rural and urban communities.

‘With the inception of this mobile digital centre (mobile laboratory), SME entrepreneurs will have access to free training to help them market their products online. This effort will go a long way towards sustaining local industry,’ he said after the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between UUM and ADOC Chinese Taipei and the launch of the ADOC mobile lab, at Holiday Villa, Alor Setar on 14 May 2013.

He added that the programme was the first of its kind in Malaysia after Peru and that it would be carried out in a series for a period of two years.

The Director-General of the International Division at the Institute for Information Industry and Chinese Taipei ADOC Secretariat, Mei-Li Hsiao, commented that the programme was the best way to achieve the set goals and a sure way of increasing knowledge and experience in collaboration.

Meanwhile, ITU-UUM also received 21 laptops, a printer, a camera and a consultant technician to assist in operating the laboratory.

The signing of the MoU was witnessed by the representative of the Deputy of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Malaysia, Lin Min-Li, and the Director of ITU-UUM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Rozaini Sheik Osman.

Also present at the ceremony were representatives from the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (MRRD) and the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).
